About the Department :

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration is one of the oldest Departments of the University of Allahabad, that was famously known as the 'Oxford of the East'. The Department was established in the year 1924. Management wing , added in 1965, completed 50 glorious years of its existence in 2015. The Department runs Doctoral and MBA programs in addition to M.Com and B.Com courses. The Department has produced illustrious alumni who have graced prominent leadership positions in industry, academics, research and administration.

Prayagraj, formerly Allahabad, is a holy city of India. It is known for Sangam (the confluence of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati). The city has a rich cultural heritage. It is famous for holding Mahakumbh every 12 years and Kumbh every 6 years which attracts tourists and pilgrims from all over the world. Anand Bhawan, Company Garden and Khusro Bagh are other tourist attractions. Prayagraj is on the list of Smart cities of India. The city has two railway stations and an airport.
